After installing any software, the first thing most people do is set the options to suit their personal preferences. In order to personalize WinPatrol, let's first start with the basics.
Windows Vista Compatibility: WinPatrol is Windows Vista Ready!
Because WinPatrol accesses critical system locations, when you launch the WinPatrol interface, you will receive a UAC prompt. All you need to do is click Continue and WinPatrol will launch.
To launch WinPatrol
Double-click the Scotty icon in the system tray. To immediately navigate to a specific task, right click the Scotty icon and select the option from the pop-up:

To review various options or make changes, click on the appropriate tab.
Patrol Time
Many WinPatrol features have the option to set the time between Scotty's patrols. Scotty will patrol in "real time" for WinPatrol Plus subscribers. This means that if there is a change to a monitored feature, immediate notification will be provided. With the free version of WinPatrol, it is up to the user to set the time between patrols.
Anytime the clock icon is available, the time can be adjusted between patrols. Clicking on the icon opens the option windows illustrated below.
